Retribalization
A part of this Global Village concept is retribalization of the planet. We are creating new neighborhoods based on beliefs, ideas and interests. This may very well lead to a new societal structure not imagined before. Our new village is made up of those individuals who share our values and concerns despite race, age, location or religion.
McLuhan says that it never occurred to him that uniformity and tranquility were the properties of the Global Village. McLuhan argued that the Global Village ensures maximal disagreement on all points because it creates more discontinuity, division and diversity.
