PROJECT ONE - TED TALK SUBMISSION FORM
PERSONAL TOPIC PROJECT
All of us have questions about what we see in the media. With social media, nearly unlimited internet access and a bombardment of information and entertainment providers, the opportunity for technology to invade every aspect of our lives is certain. After consuming the different forms of media technology out there, what burning questions do you have? How do you find the truth?
STEP ONE
From the ridiculous to the sublime, select a topic you want to learn more about, preferably something out of your usual expertise.
Include your name, student ID
Choose a subject related to media and/or technology, about which you can research as many different points of view about it as possible. Your mission is to discover the "truth."
STEP TWO
Once you have received approval for your topic, you can then begin researching more about your query. What do inquiring minds want to know?
Pose the question and do the research. Look for the answers using as many different forms of media as you can, this may include videos, scientific journals, research papers, tweets, instagram, blogs, podcast, newspapers, magazine, ezines, television, new programming, memes, comics, Facebook, Tinder or whatever resources your query leads you to.
You must select at least eight (8) sources that offer both or multiple sides of the issue with the goal of disseminating and discerning the truth.
STEP THREE
You will then cull down the information you have gathered to present a five-minute TED TALK to the class about the topic and your conclusions regarding the TRUTH you found on the subject.
