RECYCLOPS
ISLA 303 VALUES AND TECHNOLOGY FINAL GROUP PROJECT FEEDBACK
I was delighted to see you come together as a team for your presentation. Once you found your purpose, it made sense and your problem/solution viable. There were three areas I could see room for improvement. The incentives - when one can turn in a phone and receive monetary compensation, using the recycling centers just doesn't seem like it will be sexy enough for consumers to use. We like to think people want to do the right thing, but honestly, money talks and people mumble. The second area you didn't really address was a clear marketing plan. With the name RECYCLOPS, I would have expected a logo with a cyclops, or a fun character that would brand the program. The tree was too generic, and by making it fun and clever, using the name for inspiration, I think you could have capitalized on that more.
Finally, since there are already apps for finding recycling centers, making your app even more detailed an informative is critical. I understand you plan on doing that, but it wasn't illustrated well in your presentation. The concept is great, but more research on similar programs would have given you more insight into how to make your solution even more effective.
You share how your tech will improve people’s lives, by failed to address how it will amputate any previous technologies or hoe it might influence the values of contemporary society. All in all, it was a good presentation, albeit a little unfocused, but a solid idea at the core. Your peers indicated you were an effective and valuable team member and that is reflected in your superior grade.
