Disinfectants Insight
Disinfectants are registered by both State and Federal Environmental Protection Agencies. The EPA registers disinfectants for a variety of ef cacy claims for use on inanimate environments. Ef cacy, toxicology and chemistry data demonstrating that products meet EPA requirements are part of the registration process. The choice of disinfectant to be used depends on the particular situation. Disinfectants have a wide spectrum kill claims while others kill a smaller range of disease-causing organisms but are preferred for other properties as they may be non-corrosive, non-toxic, or have faster dwell times.
