Oldham bingo player wins share of £500,000
A bingo fan from Oldham is celebrating after being one of seven Mecca Bingo players to walk away with a jackpot of £50k following the launch of the new National Bingo Game on 30th April.
The new game, which only launched just over a month ago, has handed out a total of £447,000
to Mecca customers, with seven lucky players walking away with the jackpot of £50k as well as 50 lucky players winning £1,000 each and a further 470 picking up £100 each.
The new game creates a winner in every participating club on every game: as the game is played twice
a day and in over 275 clubs across the country that is a lot of winners. It means that players at Mecca Oldham are guaranteed to celebrate a winner on average every day, plus jackpot prizes ranging from £100 to a £50,000 top prize.
The new game format is played using 50 numbers, rather than the usual 90 numbers, which means special new tickets and a quick-fire game, with successful players finding out instantly if they have won and if they can claim a Jackpot Prize.
Oldham bingo fans can win in 24 numbers or less to bag £100, win in 20 numbers or less to grab a £1,000 and if you win in 16 numbers or less it’s time to get the party started, as you could be a £50,000 winner. The new format National Bingo Game is expecting at least 5 lucky customers a month will land the £50,000 top prize.
Bernie Dullighan, club manager at Mecca Oldham, said: “We want to reward bingo fans with more chances of winning than ever before and the results we’ve seen within the first month of the new format National Bingo Game is testament to this. “We look forward to welcoming regular faces and new members to enjoy the new live game. With so many prizes up for grabs, we can’t wait to celebrate with our customers!”
Miles Baron, Chief Executive of the National Bingo Game, said: “We are excited to see the first month has been so successful. Our mission is to create more winners across the country and the new game is designed to produce over 20,000 winners a month. With a guaranteed winner in every club, on every game, and Jackpots of £100, £1000 and £50,000 to be won, it’s great to hear we already have so many happy customers, as bingo clubs across the country celebrate with their lucky winners.”
“This is the third time in over thirty years that the game has had a substantial change: with this latest version of the game we wanted to bring it bang up to date, with a game that takes less time to play, allows clubs to play at a time they choose, finds its winners quickly and creates more of them.”
The National Bingo Game was first launched in 1986, since when it has paid out over £1 billion in prize money, and will continue to be played twice a day: afternoon and evenings, with tickets priced at £1 for 2, or £2 for 5.
