Oldham EuroMillions lottery win goes unclaimed
The deadline for the winners of almost £700,000 to come forward after buying their EuroMillions ticket in Oldham has passed without the prize being claimed.
The lucky numbers came out in the draw back in July 2017 with the winners of the £687,688.80 prize being given 180 days to claim their prize.
That deadline ran out yesterday (Wednesday 10th January) with Camelot claiming nobody had come forward to say it was them who bought the winning ticket.
It means the money will now be donated towards a number of National Lottery funded projects across the UK.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.
To avoid this unfortunate situation happening again, I would urge all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis.
“We tried very hard to find the ticket-holder and it’s a real shame that they have missed out, but there is still one winner – the nation. This money, and all the interest earned over the 180 days, will now go to benefit projects, like the Oldham Coliseum, all over the UK funded by The National Lottery.”
