Establishing Connection: Tech Tips
Know your platform (Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc )and its idiosyncrasies.
Have your face lit so people can read your lips and see your facial expressions. Try not to be back lit.
Fill 1/3 of the screen with you. Try to have the top of your head touching the top of the video window.
Use a headset or microphone (earbuds work), so you don't shout at the computer screen.
Be aware of your background. Green screens are great.
Standing can bring energy to long days of remote/virtual communication.
If you're leading/facilitating and have a team, assign roles–someone to watch the chat, someone to mute people, someone to help with tech issues.
