The Position
The Land and and Resource Management Specialist assumes responsibility
for all land management functions projects and and activities This difficult
and and complex professional work which includes resource management and and stewardship of properties overseeing contractors and consultants engaged in in managing reserve land and and and inspecting completed work work and and and work work in in in in progress This position receives general direction from the Executive Officer Examples of Essential Duties:
» Apply scientific principles procedures practices and and theories pertinent to all disciplines of land management management services including water quality fisheries wildlife vegetation range management management road maintenance and and and construction culvert installation installation and and and replacement fence repair and and and installation installation fuels treatment environmental permitting and and resource conservation and and restoration » Develop and implement resource management plans » Engage with multiple stakeholders such as landowners funders and and regulators » Participate in the the development and and implementation of goals objectives policies and and priorities for the the Habitat Agency » Participate in in the development and administration of budgets for for assigned function forecasts funds needed needed monitors and approves expenditures recommends adjustments as needed needed » Oversee infrastructure maintenance replacement and and construction Plan and and manage projects » Oversee research regarding site site conditions protection and and restoration surveys field sites and and analyzes
environmental impacts of projects projects and implements restoration projects projects » Ensure that boundaries conservation easements and encroachments are managed as as per the SCVHA charter » Oversee the development of requests for for proposals and and and bid processes for for land management and and and restoration services Recommend awarding of projects and administer resulting contracts » Review and and direct grant application submittals for habitat enhancement and and site development projects » Supervise and and administer site development grant grant projects and and address grant grant issues » Attend and and participate in in in in professional group meetings stay abreast of of new trends and and innovations in in in in the field of long-range and and and environmental planning land use management and and and other related areas » Monitor changes in laws regulations and technology that may affect area of assignment » Interpret and and and explain rules regulations and and and procedures answer questions and and and resolve concerns related to land management
