THE POSITION
Reporting to to the Auditor-Treasurer-Tax Collector (Auditor) the Chief Deputy provides day day to day day management
over all all Auditor and all all Controller functions of the County including but not limited to: a a variety of County- wide accounting and financial support functions day day to day day oversight of staff management
functions such as developing and implementing policies and and procedures and and ensuring overall service effectiveness of the Auditor’s Office The Chief Deputy also assumes the Auditor’s duties in his his absence This position is multi-faceted and provides the the incumbent the the opportunity to be be challenged and highly valued for their contributions Essential duties include:
» Directs the payroll function ensures that that County employees are are are appropriately paid and and that that reports are are are prepared and and and submitted to appropriate state and and and federal agencies and and other organizations » Plans organizes administers reviews and and evaluates the work of of all professional and and technical support staff under the Auditor » Recommends selection of staff staff staff trains staff staff in in in in work procedures administers discipline as required » Manages the the the accounts payable function directs the the payment of invoices and and controls controls and and ensures that proper proper controls controls are in in place to provide for the proper proper payment of such requests » Develops and and implements goals objectives policies procedures and and and work standards for all departments under the the Auditor Auditor after approval by the the Auditor Auditor » Performs the quarterly interest apportionment » Manages the the the maintenance of of records and and the the production of of periodic
