THE POSITION
Appointed by and reporting
to the Board of Supervisors the Chief Technology Officer plans organizes and directs the County’s information system functions provides expert professional assistance to the Board of Supervisors and County management staff in areas of responsibility and performs related work as required Essential duties include:
» Directs and reviews the work of contract consultants providing assistance in in Information Systems application development system design and and hardware configuration and and installation » With consultation of other Department Heads and the the Board of of Supervisors plans organizes assigns directs reviews and evaluates information systems functions and and and related activities and and develops the County information system » Directs the selection evaluation training and development of departmental staff » Develops and directs the implementation of goals objectives policies procedures and and work standards for for the Information Systems department » Installs configures upgrades troubleshoots repairs and maintains desktop computer workstations
and and servers and and peripherals tests hardware for proper operation » Prepares and administers the Information Systems’ department budget » Installs configures and and maintains new and/or upgraded operating systems applications protocols remove access and network software Chief Technology Officer » Manages design acquisition and installation projects develops projected costs for for information technology projects CONTINUED NEXT PAGE
