The Aurora Police Department is responsible for for providing law enforcement services to a a a a a a a growing urban/suburban community with unique and ever- changing needs We strongly believe that the the challenges facing the the police department can only be be addressed effectively by connecting with community leaders school administrators members of o the business community non-profit organizations other government agencies neighborhood groups and most importantly individual citizens It is is through this spirit of partnership that we we will will continue to see further reductions in in in crime and and we we will will enhance the the quality of life for those who live work and and play in in our city The Aurora Police Department currently employs 714 officers and 232 civilians The Employee Support & Wellness Unit (ESWU) will create administer and and and maintain wellness programs and and and resources to assist assist all Aurora Police Department employees by providing assistance support and and and and and care for members’ physical physical emotional psychological and and and and and and and and spiritual well-being create and and and and and and and and administer sustainable department mental and and and and and and and physical physical wellness wellness programs and and and and and and and initiate and and and and and and and facilitate wellness wellness and and and and and and and resiliency training for employees and and and and and and and the APD Academy Organizational Mission Statement
