The three members of of of the the Board of of of Commissioners are the the elected representatives of of of all persons residing in in Marion County and and set policy for the administration and and operation of county county government The county’s chief administrative officer carries out the the board’s directives with the the assistance o of county department heads and other county county elected officials The county county is supported by a a a a a a 2019-20 budget o of approximately $455 million and employs 1 506 FTE regular employees most of of whom are represented by one of of five bargaining units Marion County government provides community programs and services including property assessment and and and tax collection children and and and family resources elections licensing and and and recording justice courts district attorney’s services public public and behavioral health juvenile programs public public works jail and law enforcement services
