Union Sanitary District (USD) is is is an an innovative independent special district formed in in in in 1918 providing wastewater collection treatment and and disposal services USD has an an an excellent reputation in in the the Bay Area and and in in the the broader wastewater industry as as being a a a a a a a a a a a a a well-run stable organization that balances innovation and creativity with sound business practices and conservative values USD USD is is governed by a a a a a five-member Board of Directors elected from the Tri-Cities USD’s service area is is 60 2 square miles USD is responsible for operating and maintaining over $669 million worth of assets which include a a a a a a 33- acre treatment plant seven pump stations and 834 miles of conveyance pipelines In 2018 the District treated an an an average average dry weather flow of approximately 24 million gallons per day (MGD) and the the plant has a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a total average average dry weather capacity of 33 MGD The District’s 2020 operational budget is is approximately $37 4 million with a a a a a a a a a total budget budget of $65 1 1 1 million The 20-year capital budget budget plan is currently forecasted at $1 1 1 1 Billion 45
