POSITION
Under the the policy-setting guidance of TID’s elected Board the the the General Manager directs the the day-to-day operations of TID’s extensive irrigation water storage and and delivery system as as well as as the generation transmission and and distribution of electricity within a a a a a a a a a a 662 square-mile service area in in Central California Reporting to the General General Manager Manager are five Assistant General General Managers with business unit responsibility in in fin water resources power supply financial services electrical engineering and operations as as well as as external affairs Also reporting to to the the General Manager are the the the Director Director of of Human Resources Resources and and the the Director Director of of Water Resources Resources and and Regulatory Affairs The
General Manager has complete oversight responsibility to to the the Board of Directors for the the effective leadership and management of of TID In consideration of of Board established goals and priorities the General Manager is is expected to provide inspirational leadership for TID’s TID’s employees to accomplish TID’s TID’s adopted Mission Vision and and and Strategic Objectives and and and and to to develop and and and and implement specific business plans and and and programs to to meet the Strategic Objectives Specific responsibilities include:
• Ensure constant and timely communication with the the Board of of Directors on on the the status of of initiatives and projects within TID • Provide visionary leadership for TID Identify current and and potential trends and and and innovative practices in in in California water and and the electric industry as as well as as potential threats or market disrupters and develop plans to address them • Provide leadership and and management in the development and and and implementation of of District strategies policies and and programs in the the areas of of (1) the the supply distribution quality conservation and and management of surface water water and and and groundwater drainage and and riparian resources (2) the generation supply distribution and and transmission of electric electric power and and and electric electric industry deregulation and and competition (3)
the integration of technology in in our processes and and (4) employee relations and and training • Serve as a a a a representative and spokesperson of TID with elected policy makers and and and local State and and and Federal agencies to protect and and and enhance TID’s interests as they relate to water electric power and other relevant issues • Provide leadership within key stakeholder groups on water issues that affect the the the Tuolumne River River the the the San San Joaquin Joaquin River River River Basin and the the the Sacramento-San Joaquin Joaquin River River Delta as as well as as electric utility issues that affect TID and public power within California • Represent TID TID to to to the community to to to maintain awareness as to to to to what TID TID is is is doing and to to specific District issues develop a a a a a good relationship with the community as a a a a whole
