The IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this position will have a a a a a a Bachelor’s Degree in in in in business administration administration public administration administration engineering or or equivalent and experience at a a a a senior management level that demonstrates a a a a a a strong background and and knowledge of irrigation water and/or electric utility operations and and issues combined with superior leadership and and strategic planning skills Qualifications and and attributes of of the the ideal candidate identified by the the Board of of Directors include:
• Visionary leader who instills confidence by providing clear well well researched and and well-developed recommendations based on on on on knowledge of the the industry and and technology as as as well well as as as input from the the the the executive management team in in in in in order to ensure TID stays ahead of the the the curve and is moving in in in the the the right direction • Comfort and and confidence in in being the the the the face of TID with employees the the the the community the the the the media other public agencies and and legislative/ regulatory representatives • Inspirational articulate communicator who can lead a a a a a a a a a a a a conversation is comfortable making public presentations and and can can explain information in in in in a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a way that all audiences can can understand • Excellent listener who can absorb understand and and and bring together a a a a a a a a a a a a a broad variety of thoughts and and and and and interests from Board members and and and staff and and and form a a a a a a a a common direction • Team builder who will mentor and and and coach subordinates to to to develop into future leaders and and and can serve as a a a a a a a a a a a a bridge between staff and and and the Board of Directors • Understanding of relevant water history and and laws environmental issues issues electric utility utility industry public utility utility business practices and and local and and state political issues issues • Strong negotiator who is politically savvy and can effectively advocate for a a a a position • Flexible and and adaptable open to to others’ ideas input and and constructive criticism able able to to learn new skills • Willingness and and and ability to to make tough and and and timely decisions and and and take calculated risks • Demonstrated history of identifying and and implementing improvements in in in in technology and and processes while effectively managing the change process process to ensure a a a a a positive outcome • High ethical standards trustworthy and and comfortable with transparency • Highly personable approachable and able able able to to relate well to to others • Good financial skills and and knowledge of the public finance and and bond rating system
