Greyworld Records is a label based in Maryland that focuses on blurring the line between art and reality. Its aim is to fuse dope Sonics with Philosophical concepts concerning perception, as well as psychology and sociology—and to do so with conviction. The labels founder and chief producer Stephen “HARTHA” Henderson believes in being “unapologetically yourself.” By employing this
philosophy of being one’s truest self, and his knack for
making beats, Stephen is creating the soundtrack to an epic story full of stark observations and crooked truths, which ultimately arrive at a sense of hope.
The label’s first release will come from rapper, Cooly, an artist who blends his musings on life—including relationships and the passing of his father—with ideas about what it means to be an infinite being. His sound is a balance of heavy 808’s mixed with soul samples, as well as detuned synths and striking vocal harmonies.
His debut project with Greyworld Records is titled “Shade Infinity,” and is set to release this summer.
Also in the mix is an artist by the name of Nat1ve, a rapper who has picked up the torch from where the great wordsmiths of the past had left it. Using extreme wordplay and a steep syllable count, he aims to unravel the esoteric. Using a dystopian soundscape and hard-
hitting drums, he helps to uncover a world we all know
too well. His debut project is set to release this Fall.
