Mailings Explained
EDDM CARDS
Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) is a service offered by the U.S. Postal Service which allows you to mail a postcard to every single house on a mail carrier’s route. You choose the route. To create EDDM’s you should take the following steps:
1. Visit usps.com/eddm to determine which routes you would like to target.
2. Share in your Intake Form the quantity you would like printed.
- Please know EDDM’s are printed in quantities of 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 or more. Odd number quantities cannot be printed.
3. Once your design is approved, Marketing will send your card to print. Allow time for delivery. Take holidays into consideration.
4. Marketing will communicate when your cards have arrived.
5. If Marketing is bundling your cards; you must send the completed Route Facing Slips to us. Consult with Marketing to specify mailing date.
NOTES: If you order less cards than there are homes in your chosen routes, the mail person will determine randomly which homes do not receive a card. We have no say on this!
Marketing will design your pieces with the required addressing and indicias. There is a charge from MKTG for bundling and delivery.
Mailing cost per EDDM piece is 0.191¢
BULK MAIL
Bulk mail is a discounted mailing service offered by the USPS for people who prepare and ship large quantities of mail at a time. If you regularly send out uniform-sized mailings in an amount of 200 or greater, a little extra work presorting your mail could save you a lot of money!
Typically, your bulk price mail is going to be cheaper than a regularly priced single piece of mail. “Single-piece” is a term that means you are
paying full price for a standard piece of mail.
Size Restrictions
The longer side of each piece must be no more than 15 inches long. The shorter side must be no more than 12 inches long. The piece can be no more
than 3/4” thick.
How to order bulk mail:
1. Please indicate if you would like to do bulk mail in your Intake Form.
- MKTG will design your piece according to the mailing restrictions and with the previously paid for BHHS bulk mail permit stamp.
2. You will need labels in order to address each postcard. This is something the agent does.
- You can contact your Title Rep for either physical labels or a listing of addresses. - Our vendors can also pre-print the cards
with each address for $15. You will need to provide a .csv file (Excel Spreadsheet) that can be uploaded with the printing order.
Mailing cost per bulk mail piece is 0.43¢
FIRST CLASS MAIL
For quantities of less than 200 you will need to send via first class mail and label each card.
Mailing cost per first class mailing is 0.58¢
