Failed Seriousness
This gallery is a small section that transports the viewer into the present day. Failed seriousness is a massive part of pop culture in the twenty first century. What are memes if not failed seriousness? Camp is not a concept relegated to the past, nor will it ever be. Part of its charm is to see how its core concepts evolve with the passage of time. The gallery also emphasizes Sontag’s concept of deliberate versus naive camp. Sontag belives that true Camp is never done on purpose.
