SHARING IS CARING
During the months of November and December, Litchfield Park Preschool is emphasizing
“Sharing is Caring” with students, understanding the joy of sharing with others less
fortunate. Sharing and giving provides preschoolers with the understanding that it’s not
how much we give but how much love we put into giving that emphasizes the values of
patience and tolerance. We are supporting two causes this season including a Holiday
Basket Food Drive and a Joy to Socks Donation Drive (details in December newsletter).
Holiday Basket Food Drive: Starts Tuesday, November 13 and ends Friday, December 7
The preschool is accepting non-perishable food items during the 2018 Holiday Basket
Food Drive to donate to Agua Fria Food Bank for holiday distributions. Please participate
by donating any of the following items: instant potatoes; stuffing; cranberry sauce; turkey
gravy or chicken broth; canned fruit; or, canned peas. Please purchase pop top cans and
place your items in the preschool collection box.
Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday, November 21 - Friday, November 23
Enjoy the time to participate in family activities, give thanks with family traditions, create
yummy desserts from simple recipes, take nature walks, and read books together.
Classes will resume on Monday, November 26.
Parent Appreciation Art Walk: Friday, December 7
Save the date! Join us for the annual Parent Appreciation Art Walk for all preschool
classes. Students will perform! Details to follow.

Odds & Ends
Watch for the “Parent Praise” stationery.
Turkey stationery will be sent home for you to write words of praise or
encouragement to your child. The note will be displayed on our “Parent Praise”
board. Ms. Seye will read the student praise notes to the class. Please place your
child’s praise note in the homework box located on the sign in/out table.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Breakfast provides our children with the energy and nutrients that lead to increased
concentration in the classroom. It also provides energy for activities during the
morning and helps to prevent mid-morning slumps.
Please continue working with your child at home.
Classroom learning reinforced by parent involvement builds a strong team to enrich
your preschooler’s early childhood education.
