 HEARTBEAT HAS BEEN CARING
FOR AND REHABILITATING PEOPLE OF THE NORTH WEST FOR 40 YEARS!
Heartbeat was founded in 1978 by Keith and Rose Redman who sadly lost their teenage daughter, Gillian, to heart disease. Keith and Rose recognised the need to develop support and enhanced rehabili- tation for people affected by heart disease post hospital discharge.
This pioneering approach to cardiac rehabilitation has provided support to thousands of people over Heartbeat’s 40-year history.
So, we’re going to make 2018 a very special year, full of fundraising celebrations.
We have a huge goal of raising an additional £40k and we would like you to be part of our celebrations.
Heartbeat receives no funding whatsoever from the NHS. Our purpose is to contribute to a reduction in cardiovascular disease through the delivery of services aimed at existing heart patients and those identified as at risk of developing it.
Heartbeat delivers clinical testing, rehabilitation, education, advice, support and training to children, young people and adults across Lancashire.
Based on the site of Preston North End football club we have a bespoke heart centre and 7 satellite sites all offering a tailored approach to tackling heart disease.
Over 900 people take part every week.
