Nine Points about Antisemitism for Parents to Discuss with Their School-age Children

“ As the eruption of antisemitic incidents continued in Australian cities and around the world, school children became participants in
major pro-Palestinian marches and rallies in Sydney and Melbourne. A number of teenagers were photographed and interviewed with placards that read ‘From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free’ and depicting the Star of David as ‘rubbish’. I wrote this article to encourage parents to discuss the matter of
antisemitism with their children, and offered ” it to a number of Catholic diocesan media
outlets, but with no reply forthcoming I posted it on Lightof Torah.net.
In pro-Palestinian protests by school students in Melbourne and Sydney, some students were quoted as saying ‘Hamas is doing a good job’. Others posted images depicting themselves dumping the Israeli flag bearing the Star of David symbol into a rubbish bin so as to ‘clean the world’.
Young and impressionable, these students know little, if anything, about the history and contemporary reality of the
