whenever Jews, or any people, are harmed by prejudice and hate speech.
3. Engage in respectful conversations about matters such as the war in Gaza where opinions are divided, taking care that social media and ‘placard’ narratives do not replace the real work of education about social, political and historical issues.
4. Support peacebuilding initiatives that bring together people of diverse faiths and cultures.

This article also carried the following notice promoting a
rally against antisemitism in Sydney organised by ‘Never Again Is Now’, an initiative of members of Protestant Churches. This peaceful rally attracted about 10,000 participants from the Australian public. In some later and smaller rallies of this kind held in other Australian states during 2024, peaceful attenders were met with aggressive counter-rallies by pro-Palestinian protestors.
We can also join thousands of Australians
at a peaceful rally against antisemitism: Sunday, 18 February 2024, 3.00 pm at a location in Sydney to be announced. ‘Never Again Is Now’ is a Christian initiative and open to all Australians. See: www.neveragainisnow.com.au. Say No to antisemitism and affirm the bond we share as Australians committed to a peaceful and cohesive society.
