SENIORS REPORT 2017/18
This was a tough season that was caused by the Association decision to move every Team from C3 to A2 up either 1 or 2 Grades from those proposed at the start of the season. This resulted in us having 6 Teams in the top 4 Grades including an Association first with 2 Teams in A2 and 2 in B2 Grades. Our Teams were still competitive but it had flow-on implications.
After A1 finished as runners-up last season we finished 8th with our depth tested with talent spread over 2 Teams in A2.
Thank you to our Captains who worked so well together to deliver results that exceeded expectations given the circumstances. Our final positions in each grade, and the Captains were:
• A1 – James Makin (8th )
• A2 (Red) – Simon Smyth (2nd – Semi Finalist) • A2 (Blue) – Rick Turner (7th)
• B1 – Aaron Carlini (7th)
• B2 (Red) – Rob Knapman (Runner-up)
• B2 (Blue) – Tim Worthington (6th)
• C1 – Tarun Lath (6th)
• C2 – Steve Burrows (6th)
• C3 – Indranil Mukherjee (3rd – Semi Finalist) • D1 – Gautam Ayyar (5th)
• D2 – Mike Kinchington (Premiers)
Congratulations also to our T20 Premiers:
• 2nd Grade – Simon Smyth • 3rd Grade – Rob Knapman • 4th Grade – Steve Burrows.

James Makin, our record breaking 22nd A1 Captain has decided to step down from the Captaincy next season to just play and help his successor’s transition. James’ contribution has been immense:
• Equal record 8 years A1 Captain
• Record 4 x consecutive Rofe Shield Premierships • Record 2 x 1st Grade T20 Premierships
• 1 x A2 Premiership
• 1 x A1 Runner-up
• 1 x 1st Grade T20 Runner-up
