South of the equator, late September,
We get our kits and go with our mates and bros (probably can be changed here - don’t like the bros word)
For the next six months, we’re out in the sun Taking wickets or smashing runs
You gotta get used to this ...
Time flies by at my club’s cricket green With my team who all know what I mean
To be the best of all clubs, is what I’m dreaming of If you need me you know where I’ll be
I’ll be bowling right arm over spin or medium fast Aiming at your off stump.
Or I’ll be taking my guard Watching the ball real hard On the way to my ton.
I’ve got 6 on the off, 3 on the leg A silly mid on
And they’ve got my back.
Back.. back .. ba ... (echo)
