The work that Ramil De Silva is doing on developing an Operational Dashboard will be an important resource for our next stage strategy.
Umpires course
We were privileged to have had Claire Polosak run an Umpiring workshop at the Sports Club. Claire is one of the ICC’s top 16 Umpires.
Junior Leadership Program
Two very successful Junior Leadership programs for our Junior players, Coaches & Managers were organised by Will McLennan (Communication and Social Media) and Danielle Chivers (Blast). The theme was “What does it take to be my best?” and were run by Alan Mantle, a renowned Sports psychologist.
Girl’s cricket
Grant & Suz Colburt leave their shared role of Girls Directors, held since 2019. Our Girl’s Cricket footprint is now the strongest it has been with 6 Teams in the Stage 1 to Stage 3 Competitions currently in the NSJCA. Add to this the Girls playing in our HK&HDCA Junior Mixed, Blast and All Girls Blast programs we registered 76 Girls. We also had the best on-field performance since we started offering Girl’s cricket in 1995/96 with 4 of our 6 Teams playing in Semi Finals and our Stage 2 Girls (McGrath Team) on winning the Minor Premiership in a strong competition.
Their performance has been recognised at National level winning the prestigious Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia Women & Girls Initiative of the Year (2022) and the Diversity & inclusion Award (2023).
We are now well placed to transition our younger Girls from the NSJCA to the new Stage 1 and Stage 2 Girls Competitions run by HK&HDCA in 2023/24.
Pink Stumps
Our commitment to support the McGrath Foundation started in 2010/11. This season the Juniors (Mixed) and Girls raised a combined $6,888 for this great cause. The total raised since we started is now $65,400!
