WELCOME TO ISSUE FOUR OF YELLOW
Welcome to issue four, and our focus on wellbeing in the workplace.
As we enter the month of ‘’Movember’’ and the lead in to the silly season it’s a good time to think of others and ask “RUOK” and support those in need that need and appreciate those simple words. Health and wellbeing in the workplace, and looking after your staff is important for so many obvious reasons and some less obvious ones.
As markets get tighter and Australia braces for a slowdown, businesses like TCW have to reinvent and make sure we stay relevant with our products and our service. We have taken a giant step towards the paperless office, supporting flexible working, and updating our product offering. The booths that we featured in Issue 3 as concepts have all arrived and the brands we represent including Bosse From Dauphin, Smartblock, Silen and the A Pod have all had sales traction in the market.
Sales of our sit stand desks are a bit up and down, and conversations about agile workspace continues. TCW recently hosted a series of CPD talks on wellbeing in the workplace arranged by InHouse Group3. I was invited to speak on the subject and chose to talk about the “Inactivity based workplace”. This was not about sedentary behaviour but providing spaces where employees can relax and take a few moments, as well as
an environment where people can collaborate on work, creativity and innovation. These are the physical settings that support a healthy work culture. We spoke of laughing, music, movement, food and rest as healthy practices. Out with the coke and chocolates, in with the water (not single use) and the fruit!
Our booths are a great product solution to contemporary workplace needs. Now with the N.A.P from LoOok Industries you also have a Neurosonic treatment capsule, controlled by a mobile app realising the importance of rest. Our last great product of the year is the Moving Wall series. Moving walls provide a holistic solution for agility and collaboration, with a high quality surface that is easy and quick to clean unlike many other similar products. Read up on how Moving Walls came to be in their feature Moving Moments.
We plan to have more events over the next few months into 2020 and we are kicking off with the a Melbourne Cup pre carnival “foodie event” in our Melbourne showroom as well as our usual table at an event in Sydney on the race that stops the nation.” Remember Well-being is not a motherhood statement; it’s a culture and strategy to be practiced.
