God’s Gift
Lucy’s Seventh Birthday
Lucy was very excited to be turning seven. Her parents were planning a big party with Lucy’s friends and all the family. Each day Lucy received notes from people who could attend and some who were sorry they could not attend.
As her party drew near Lucy realised she had not heard from her brother Luke. Luke was a very busy person and Lucy was very proud of him. She had hoped her friends would meet Luke at her party.

was arriving. Lucy was delighted to see each and every one of her guests. The party started with lots of music and games.Everyone was having a good time.
As it came time to share some food, Lucy realised that Luke had not arrived. Not wishing to start without him she checked to see if he was coming, but there was no sign of her brother. Lucy was disappointed and a little sad.
All her family and friends were calling for Lucy to come and blow out her birthday candles. Lucy already had a special wish. As she came back into the party, Luke stepped out of the crowd and wished her: Happy Birthday!
Lucy always remembered the joy of this special party. The day she turned seven and her brother Luke was with all her family and friends. This was the best gift she ever received.
Baby Jesus so sweet and small,
you are the best gift of all.
