Jesus was standing on the shore of Lake Galilee and a crowd came towards him and he started teaching them. As he walked along, he saw a tax collector, Levi,
Follow me.
And Levi immediately got up and followed Jesus. Later on, Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house and a large number of outcasts and tax collectors had joined them. But the teachers of the law, called Pharisees, saw this and they said:
Why does Jesus eat with such people? But Jesus heard them and He said:
People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick. I have not come to help respectable people, but outcasts.
The Call to Levi
Have you ever felt left out? Imagine if these things happened to you. Happy Sad
You weren’t invited to the birthday party You got picked in the team The family were all cross with you Your best friend wouldn’t talk to you You were left out of the game at lunch time
Your friend forgave you when you were mean
Recognise Jesus in others and treat them accordingly.
