The FBI response of September 25, 2014 indicates the FBI is withholding release of information to me based on various exemptions. The FBI has indicated which specific exemptions it has used to
withhold information and provided a generic Explanation of Exemptions: One of the exemptions it claims is Section 552a (j)(2), viz:
552a (j)(2) material reporting investigative efforts pertaining to the enforcement of criminal law including efforts to prevent, control, or reduce crime or
apprehend criminals;
I find this a surprising claim on their part and frankly unbelievable. Are you able to request more information from them in relation to their claim, or is that the domain of judicial review and the courts? I believe they are lying.
