U11 Blue Team
Under 11 Blue were excited to be finally playing “real cricket”. We welcomed some new faces including some who had not played cricket before. The weather didn’t help us prepare for the new season and unfortunately we struck some strong opposition early on when the grounds were small, the outfields fast, and some were away on holidays. We had a number of good partnerships with Ahbay and Aryan making a century opening partnership to help us on our way to our first victory. Ritish joined us and showed some good form and patience with the bat and had some great partnerships with Cory, and Avi. Seth was solid behind the stumps and was also a leading wicket taker. Hiresh also kept well and his leg spin continues to develop. Pahan and Ardil improved their bowling with Ardil chipping in for some key wickets. Ratul continued his hard hitting from last season and made some important runs. Kaelen was always economical with the ball. Lucith’s offspin was again a highlight as was his energy and encouragement. Ritik showed great improvement in both bowling and batting and became a very reliable player post-Christmas. Our last regular game was a highlight with Ritish taking a hat trick in a really exciting victory.
It has been an absolute pleasure to coach this team the past three years. The camaraderie and respect shown by these boys and the way they learnt new and improved their skills made coaching very enjoyable. Keep enjoying the game and the friendships you will make.

U11 Red Team
The boys in the WPHC U11 Red team have had another enjoyable season of cricket. We have welcomed some new boys to the team this season whom have done very well, with the support of our seasoned players. All the boys have further developed and improved their skills throughout the season. Although the focus has been known to wander at times, it is great to see their encouragement towards each other, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the boys as each of you have had special moments and memories throughout the season, whether it be your first runs or wicket, maiden over, having to retire after scoring 40 runs, classic catches or direct run outs.
Thank you to our coach, manager and parents who have participated in umpiring, scoring and coffee runs for the team. A very big thank you to all the parents and grandparents for their ongoing support at each match, and for taking your boys to training and games each week.
Looking forward to seeing you all next season.
