Two Parts to One Agreement
In the Bible, the word Testament has a similar meaning as covenant. A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and people. The Bible outlines how this agreement was established and how it was maintained. The two testaments give witness to this holy agreement and tells us who was involved. The fact that there is an agreement between God and people lets us know that there must be a relationship between us and God. The Bible tells us how this relationship existed in the past and instructs us as to how it might exist now and in the future.
