The Kingdom of God
One Coin (Luke 15:8-10)
Jesus told the people another story:
What will a woman do if she has ten silver coins and loses one of them? Won’t she light a lamp,
and say, “Let’s celebrate! I’ve found the coin I lost.”
Jesus said, “In the same way God’s angels are happy when even one person turns to him.
Parables were told by Jesus to reveal something about God and to teach us about how to relate to God. Keeping in mind that the woman in the story represents God and her coins represent us, think about the following questions.
2. When she found the coin, what did the woman do?
3. How does a person become ‘lost’ like the coin?
4. With the story of the lost coin in mind, what would God do when one of us loses our way?
5. How do you think God feels when a ‘lost’ person returns to him?
