Our belief at the Sellwood Community House is in the unlimited potential

Here, your child will experience the magic that takes place when you meld a child's natural sense of curiosity with thoughtfully planned learning experiences.
Preschool T/TH
A sweet, gentle preschool entry for our youngest learners. Play and creativity
are our guiding principles at this stage,
as children uncover the joys of learning and exploring. We are mindful that our environment is the additional teacher in our spaces and collaborating with children is key to fostering healthy group dynamics and individual growth. Stories, songs, movement through yoga and breath
work are interwoven into our mornings, which naturally nourishes our senses and development.

Early Kindergarten M-F
This class is a gentle transition to traditional kindergarten. It is the perfect
fit for a child who is not quite old enough for traditional Kindergarten, but wanting
a little more than what a preschool may have to offer academically. This class
will guide the children through all main learning goals for a traditional Kinder environment with a much larger focus on outdoor learning, imaginative play, project based learning and social and emotional health.

Preschool M/W/F
Early childhood is a magical, adventurous time. This preschool class offers children the opportunity
to engage in a play based, child led program. Creativity and imagination
is fostered both in the classroom and in our outdoor environment. Process art, exploration, Songs, stories, and nature are an important part of our daily experiences. At the core of
this classroom is appreciation and gratitude for our community and the world around us. This class gives the child the opportunity to explore, create and nurture friendships in a loving, supportive environment.
