Winter
Dearest community,
2022
A grain is minuscule. A tiny itty bitty thing. A particle, a fleck. The “smallest possible quantity or amount of a quality,” as one definition informs. And yet “little grains of sand make the mighty ocean.”
As the year begins, I feel a growing sense of steadiness and also possibility. Connection, peace, and daydreams begin to coalesce into a vision of what the Sellwood Community House will look like this year.
There is power in the small acts of kindness, little deposits of love and humble moments of the everyday. In the face of adversity, in the moments of uncertainty, these little things are adding up to a mighty thing we see forming at the Sellwood Community House and I’m so happy to have each and every one of you as a part of our community!
It can feel a bit overwhelming and intimidating to find a group if you don’t already have one. But when you find your people, it will feel just right and we hope you each feel a sense of belonging here, at your community house!
We hope to provide you with a place to truly feel like a home away from home, where you are welcomed, seen and filled up with just what you need.
So in this next year we look forward to welcoming you, celebrating alongside you, laughing and doing life with one another.
Here is to 2022! I can’t wait to see what these little bits here and there will bring.
