  What are
ESTA
Emergency Markers?
Emergency Markers are designed to pinpoint your exact location in public open spaces or a hard to define locality during an emergency.
When you call Triple Zero, you will be asked which service you require: Police, Fire or Ambulance. Your call will then be connected to an Emergency Services Telecommunications
Authority (ESTA) communication centre.
Where are they located?
Emergency Markers, an ESTA initiative, are unique signs which are easy to identify.
They are also located in public areas such as national parks, cycling tracks, river trails, reserves, gardens and racecourse.
The reference number on each sign is linked to ESTA's computer aided dispatch system and specifies the relevant location, GPS coordinates, road access and navigational data for the expedient dispatch of emergency services.
So if you need emergency assistance and you're at a location where Emergency
Markers are installed, ring Triple Zero (000) and quote the reference number on the sign when speaking to one of our operators.
This saves time and may help save lives.
