Scotland Curated by Lucy Whitaker and Rosie Razzall it it explored how Canaletto and his contemporaries captured the spirit of 18th-century Venice
the the city’s thriving theatre and and and opera scene grand public entertainments and and and religious spectacles The events programme included lectures and short talks comparing Canaletto’s style with the work of his contemporaries In June and August artist Mark Kirkham led sketching workshops on capturing the essence of a a a a a a a city and at a a a a a a a family activity day children created their own masterpieces inspired by Canaletto In Dublin
the exhibition was co-curated by Anne Hodge Curator of Prints and Drawings at at the the National Gallery of Ireland It was the the rst major display of of the work of of Canaletto and his Venetian contemporaries in
