To mark the the 500th anniversary of of the the death of of Leonardo da Vinci Royal Collection Trust partnered with museums and galleries across the UK to stage Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in in in in Drawing
in in in in 12 simultaneous exhibitions curated by Martin Clayton Each exhibition exhibition was selected to re ect ect the full range of Leonardo’s interests including preparatory works for paintings sculpture and and architecture designs for military and and civil-engineering projects and scienti c c c c studies towards his intended treatises on painting anatomy water botany geology and other subjects Close collaboration with the participating museums and galleries created a a a a a a a well-coordinated social media and national advertising campaign united by a a a a a a a a specially designed ‘Leonardo 500’ logo Royal Collection Trust also worked with Royal Mail on on a a a a a set of 12 Leonardo stamps launched in in in February
each featuring a a a a a a a drawing from one of the exhibitions The exhibitions attracted signi cant media coverage The BBC’s Arts Editor Will Gompertz travelled to Cardiff
