VISUAL SOUND POEMS: A SELECTION FROM UNTIL THE LAST BREATH COMES A Note from the Artist:
I have experimented with how sound can become visual by experimenting with the formation and frequencies of sound waves. Sound waves display themselves in colors, are captured, and then written as a Visual Sound. Random sounds (German music, a woman speaking in French, hard core rap music, gospel callings, swarms of bees—all sounds that are sounds including walking in the room) were played and produced random colors via sound waves. As random colors displayed, I captured a fraction of the color(s) from the waves. The collections of sound waves were written over, under, and around each other in order to produce the visual artifacts in these poems. The written text is a series of stories or utterances produced from association to those visual artifacts. Made completely from sound that lives on visually, Visual Sound was produced for the eyes, for the ears, for the hands, for the makers . . .
