Still working hard for you!
From GLAA DIRECTOR: BRENDA J. WELLS, CAM, CAS
Dear GLAA Members:
I hope this finds you and your staff well, and that everyone is managing through these uncertain times. Like so many businesses, our office has been closed to keep everyone safe, and to follow the guidelines by the CDC and our Kentucky Governor. However, we are still working to keep you informed and updated on what is happening in the apartment industry.
We are also working on ways we can continue to service our members and provide you with the same benefits that we’ve always provided. If you have any ideas that you would like to share that will help us, help you, please let us know at office@greaterlaa.com.
NAA has provided weekly “townhall meetings”
with all the affiliates across the country which has al- lowed us to share ideas, get updates from other mar- kets, get detailed information about the CARES Act, and so many other helpful tips to support us during these challenging times. I have tried to share as much information with you as I felt might be helpful, but hopefully not too much that I have overloaded your inboxes.
Our council and committees have started meeting again via Zoom and we are moving forward with new ideas on ways we can continue to network and support each other. We have our first “Zoom” Board Meeting scheduled this week and I am so excited to see everyone!
We have also partnered with the Louisville Apartment Association to offer various webinars that will be presented by our attorney, Stephen Marshall. The first was about "Reasonable Accommodations and Mod- ifications" and was held on April 22nd. The second one will cover the new HUD guidelines on “Assistance Animals” and is scheduled for May 5th at 10AM. The third will be on the new “Kentucky Domestic Violence Laws” and is scheduled for May 19th, again at 10AM. Registration for both webinars can be found on our website at www.greaterlaa.com. You can also view a video from Stephen Marshall regarding these webi- nars at https://youtu.be/7TY4rPo20B8.
We hope you stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Brenda J. Wells, CAM, CAS

We are also monitoring all the information that comes from the state, local, and national levels, especially if it relates to the apartment industry or effects our vendor businesses.
