5.6 The Newry Mourne Down Louth MOU Advisory Forum
In 2019/2020 Conor Patterson represented the Enterprise Agency on the stakeholder Advisory Forum set up by Newry Mourne and Down Council and Louth County Council to help them maximise the impact of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which was signed by their leaders in Brussels in 2010, the first such cross border agreement between municipalities anywhere in
the European Union. This MOU committed the Councils to work collaboratively in the fields of business support, tourism, the environment and emergency planning.
5.7 The Labour and Education Forum
During the year the Enterprise Agency continued to support the Newry and Mourne Labour and Education Forum which brings together educationalists and the business community with a view to helping schools to better meet the needs of employers.

Partnership with Down Business Centre
NMEA delivers all its Newry Mourne and Down district-wide initiatives in partnership with Down Business Centre under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the organisations in 2010.
5.4 Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade
The Agency represented by Conor Patterson played a significant role in supporting the work of Newry Chamber of Commerce during 2019/2020. Conor is a director of Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade.
5.5 The Greater Newry Vision
During 2019/2020 the Enterprise Agency continued to promote the development of Newry City and its hinterland under the auspices of the Greater Newry Vision Partnership, alongside representatives of the Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Newry Mourne and Down District Council, Southern Regional College, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Warrenpoint Harbour Authority, the Southern Health and Social Care Trust,
the Department For Communities, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Invest Northern Ireland. The Partnership was especially active in supporting Newry Mourne and Down District Council in its efforts to secure a funding package through the UK Government “City Deal” programme. The Newry Southern Relief Road project when completed in 2026/2027 will significantly reduce traffic congestion in Newry City Centre.
