BED BUG CONTROL
& PREVENTION TIPS
• TOP TIP: Always hot wash & hot dry your sheets, curtains and clothing.
• Remove all clothing & bedding and place in a hot dryer. Temperatures over 45oC will kill bed bugs and their eggs.
• This temperature must be maintained for at least 15 minutes for this to be effective. After drying place all clothing in a plastic bag that can be sealed shut and keep these articles in “storage” for at least 2 weeks; as 2 applications of a Residual based product will be required to kill adult Bed Bugs and Bed Bug eggs when they hatch.

BED BUG SPRAY
• Be very thorough with a barrier strip as this will prevent Bed Bugs from escaping to other areas in your environment.
• BED BUGS: Spray mattress lightly, particularly around seams and tufts. Take beds apart, spray bed frame and springs including all joints. Repeat as required.
• Apply a RESIDUAL PRODUCT barrier strip application to baseboards, door frames, thresholds, window sills, window frames, closets, drawers, light xtures, smoke detectors and underneath furniture.
• Couches and other furniture which may have Bed Bugs in them need to be vacuumed and treated with a contact spray regularly – every couple of days.
• Remove and apply behind all electrical switch and plug plates. Un-plug electronic equipment such as clock radios, television sets etc., and apply a light mist to all of the heat vent areas on these items.
• Direct mist into areas where insects are present. Keep spray at least 1m from interior wall, fabrics and furniture. Spray directly on insects for fastest action.
• Allow electronics to fully dry before plugging in again – at least 1 hour. If interconnecting piping (baseboard heating) exists apply to the areas going between rooms directly on the pipes and into cracks and crevices, and all oor surfaces including hardwood, carpet & lino.
• Whenever possible, keep doors and windows closed for 15 minutes after each treatment. Insects must be hit to be killed. Do not place in hot water or near radiators, stoves or other sources of heat, or store at temperatures above 50oC.
