How to maximize your prescription drug benefits
Use in-network pharmacies to save
• To pay the lowest out-of-pocket costs, fill prescriptions at participating pharmacies in your plan’s network. Participating pharmacies have agreed to charge discounted prices.
• There are more than 68,000 pharmacies nationwide in the FutureScripts network, including most national and regional chain pharmacies, and many neighborhood pharmacies.
• Log in at ibx.com to find participating pharmacies and to get the estimated price of a drug at each participating pharmacy.
Choose drugs on your plan’s formulary
• Pay the lowest cost by choosing drugs on your plan’s formulary. Your plan uses the Select formulary.
• A formulary is a list of covered drugs with different coverage levels, called tiers.
• Drugs are included based on how well they work, how safe they are, and how much they cost.
• Go to ibx.com/selectformulary for a list of drugs covered under your plan’s formulary.
Get generics whenever possible
• Generic drugs cost less than brand-name drugs, but they’re just as safe and effective.
• Your doctor can help you determine if a generic is available, and if it’s right for you.
• You will receive the lower-priced generic drug (if available) unless your doctor writes “brand medically necessary” or “dispense as written” on your prescription. You may also indicate that you do not want the generic version of your brand drug on the Mail Service Order form.
