DANCE:
Jr. Sundancers attended the American Dance Alliance State Competition at the Charles Dodge Center in Pembroke Pines
1st place and State Champions: Prop Team Division “Don’t Tell Mama”
2nd place: Lyrical Team Division “Genesis”
3rd place: Hip Hop Team Division “Money Moves”
4th place: Contemporary Team Division “Don’t Let Me Go”
VISUAL ARTS:
2019 Scholastic Art Awards competition
Tomas Davalos ‘23 - Honorable Mention
Siqi Li ‘23 - 3 Honorable Mentions
Their artwork spent just over three weeks on display at the Rubell Family Collection in Wynwood, and the artists were recognized at an awards ceremony on January 26.
MUSIC:
The Gulliver Academy Jazz Band was named “Outstanding performance for Junior High School Large Jazz Ensemble” by DownBeat magazine. Recordings of each contestant are judged by a panel of highly-qualified judges that select a representative of ensembles and individuals that perform at the highest levels. Known as the “DB Award” amongst the Jazz education world, this award is considered the best-of-the-best in Jazz.
DRAMA:
Gulliver Academy’s Drama Troupe 88015 participated in the Junior Thespians State Festival in Orlando. All of our students were awarded with State medals.
