Raffles The Palm Dubai
FURNITURE MASTERS
Discover the resort’s status as a majestic retreat, crafted by masters, as showcased in its classic furnishings.
Crafted by master European artisans, Raffles The Palm Dubai is truly a feast for the eyes enriched with thousands of pieces of handmade Italian furniture. Across the 389 rooms, suites and villas, no two pieces of furniture are the same, and all are tended to by furniture master Andrea Fortuna, who works around the clock to ensure every detail is perfect, polished and shining at all times. Highly skilled artisans, meanwhile, have applied the finishing touches to each guest room using real gold and silver leaf, while specialist stonemasons shaped the imported Portuguese marble. The 70,000 pieces of furniture from the traditional Italian ateliers of Francesco Molon and 6,000 Swarovski Crystal chandeliers recall a bygone era and the charm of past grandeur. Meanwhile, each guest is gifted a unique piece: a mirror for visiting ladies and a coat hanger for gentlemen. Like the furniture, they are entirely handmade and covered with gold leaf to echo the overall style of the hotel and its distinct style. It is all part of the hotel’s passion for authentic luxury and timeless craftsmanship.
Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris
ART TOUR DU JOUR
Discover a true oasis of creativity in the City of Lights on an art tour guided by the Palace’s Art Concierge.
Founded in 1928, Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris was granted a new lease of life by Philippe Starck who enjoyed free rein to redecorate the entire hotel. One of the keys was acquiring a collection of artwork and a call for artists with expert craftsmanship to reflect the many facets of its history and culture. This collection and one-of-a-kind objects can be found throughout the hotel – and the best way to discover them is on the original Art Tour offered by Art Concierge, Julie Eugène. From the lobby, step into the concept store La Librairie des Arts, there you can find a solid wood armchair by Antoni Gaudi designed for the famous Casa Calvet. Heading to the main staircase, you can admire a number of venerable Baccarat crystal chandeliers originally from Le Royal Monceau. More treasures await to be uncovered in the various restaurants: Matsuhisa Paris, La Cuisine, Il Carpaccio and Le Bar Long with a final stop at 41 Hoche, the residential part of the hotel. Next to the hotel’s Art Gallery, this part is filled with secrets. Prepare to be dazzled.
Raffles Europejski Warsaw
HOTEL EUROPEJSKI ART COLLECTION
Tour the art collection of Raffles Europejski Warsaw, as unique as the hotel itself.
Sitting proudly on Warsaw’s Royal Route, Raffles Europejski Warsaw reflects the true spirit of Poland. The neo-renaissance palace was built by Enrico Marconi in 1857 and quickly became the city’s creative heart, filled with writers, poets and artists and resonating with fin-de-siècle glamour. Today, Raffles Europejski Warsaw is so much more than a hotel. It is a space exhibiting the Hotel Europejski Art Collection composed of almost 500 museum-level artworks by more than 120 artists and is a platform showcasing the talent and ability of Polish craftsmen and local design. Guests are invited to take a private tour of the collection with art hotel tour guide Łukasz Godlewski, a licensed Warsaw tour guide with strong interests in Jewish Warsaw history, modernist architecture and contemporary art. Along with tours of the hotel’s own treasures, Łukasz can also guide visitors in several of Warsaw’s museums such as the Royal Castle, Łazienki Royal Park and Wilanów Palace.
