INSIDE POSSIBLE 9
Issue 9 of Possible is all about local – “We live here too”. This issue is dedicated to showing how Just Better Care and its franchises are committed to delivering effective care to build better local communities.
Our franchises are – and always will be – truly local providers. Just Better Care franchise owners know what life feels like in the neighbourhoods
they work in. Our offices pride themselves on delivering great service through local knowledge and active involvement in their communities.
In this edition, we meet truly local heroes, known in their communities and striving to reach their goals and independence.
Among them, there is young Aaron, an 18-year-old from Brisbane, Queensland, who was told he’d never be able to finish mainstream schooling. With hard work and support, he has been able to complete Year 12 at Murrumba Downs High School in Brisbane,
with an accolade of awards and achievements to his name.
In the south-east Melbourne suburb of Brighton we meet John, who has helped generations of young Victorians to learn how to
swim. Three years ago, John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and quickly began to lose his mobility. Back in the water, John now has hydrotherapy as part of the treatment for Parkinson’s and is learning to walk again.
Joshua from Townsville, a self- declared “Josh of all trades”, has experienced a number of career changes, until an opportunity just years ago spurred him on to become a Community Support Professional. With his bright pink MINI, Josh is certainly in high demand at Just Better Care Townsville.
On the coast of North Wollongong, New South Wales, painter and creative soul Glen has found his calling through an art group called “Outsider Artists”. Living with an acquired disability from a childhood incident, Glen now paints using the lush surrounds of the Illawarra region as his inspiration.
Issue 9 focuses on local stories and the people in local communities that make them. From Gippsland
to Gosford, we listen to what our community needs. Together our Community Support Professionals are committed to assisting and working with the community and our customers to achieve their goals.
We hope the stories we share make you proud of the local community and neighbourhood in which you live.
