INSIDE POSSIBLE
Many of Just Better Care’s staff, owners, customers and their families take on new challenges every day. They challenge themselves to be the best they can be. For some, getting out of the house for a few hours a day and rejoining the community is a huge achievement. For others, it is an overseas adventure or competing in the Paralympic Games.
Stephen had never sung a day in his life when he joined his local choir. Throwing himself into the unknown was incredibly rewarding. It gave him the con dence to not only learn
to sing, but sing in front of his local community (page 11).
Jean certainly wasn’t a runner when she competed in the 1973 Paralympics in Scotland, but that didn’t stop her from stepping up when the Australian relay team needed a ll-in at the last minute
(page 12).
Last minute changes are
no stranger to husband and wife Chris and Linda, who have spent the past two years of their life learning to adapt after a life- changing accident, nally getting married and journeying overseas together (page 6).
Cain embraces each
new day with the possibility and wonder that it may bring. With the support of his mum and his own self-belief, Cain regularly picks
up new skills, goes travelling and devoutly supports his favourite football club (page 18).
Lara got her rst taste of working in community care in high school, where she organised for her school to volunteer at
the athletics carnival of another local school attended by children with disabilities. Now working as Just Better Care’s Franchise Field
Support Manager, Lara shares how she started a career trajectory from volunteer to manager
(page 10).
Facing new challenges is always made easier with a trusted professional by your side. Paul and Jason have worked together for four years. Their strong bond sees them tackling Paul’s goals together, always with a smile on their faces (page 16).
Do you have a story you would like to share about how you are saying yes to new opportunities and achieving your goals? If so, we would love to hear from you. Send your story to info@justbettercare. com.
Every day brings a new challenge and a new lesson. Often, we surprise ourselves on the journey.
