 The Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 established to serve as the philanthropic arm supporting the Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) in their work of serving families in the fight against genetic diseases, birth defects and autism. GGC has provided 40 years of compassionate clinical care, unparalleled diagnostic lab services, globally-renowned research discoveries and innovative educational programs. Through four decades of dramatic technological advances, the era of genetic therapeutics is upon us - GGC is poised to be at the forefront of this exciting time, where the hopes of yesterday are becoming the realities of today. The Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation and the philanthropic friends who support its work are the very lifeline for advancing these hopes. Together they can hasten the pace of discovery in genetic diagnostics and treatments, to change the lives of so, so many.
Over the past year there have been many new and expanding medical facilities including expansions at Self Regional Healthcare, and the new Wesley Commons Rehabilitation Center.

s a part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, The Beckman Center has provided patient centered mental health care to the Lakelands Area since 1963. Residents of
Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda Counties access services (same day access for psychiatric emergencies) through six clinics and collocated sites such as schools, hospital ERs, and primary care offices. Approximately 4,000 patients are seen annually by a staff of 100 including physicians, nurses and therapists supported by administrative personnel who promote their vision “to empower people to live healthy and fulfilled lives."   The Birth Connection.
T he Birth Connection is
the first to bring midwifery services to Greenwood and
the surrounding areas. Birth Connection is owned and operated by a native of Greenwood, Janet Goff MSN, APRN, CNM. There
is a fully trained staff which provides an outstanding quality
of care to women of all ages. The Birth Connection provides primary care, gynecological and prenatal services, education through a variety of classes, labor and delivery support, home health visit 24 - 48 hours after delivery and family planning. They have a passion for women’s health, education and anticipatory guidance during pregnancy. The Birth Connection believes each woman and her family deserves time for questions to be answered, to understand changes during pregnancy, choices during labor, and a healthy and satisfying birth experience.
