KAWNEER
ARCH ITECTURE – A curved, overhead glazing
system for the Kawneer company.
Thinking sideways resulted in the innovation of using an existing Kawneer framing system and turning the elements 90°. Rafters became purlins, and purlins became rafters. As a result, Kawneer and their distributors already had a curved system – engineered, tooled, and in-stock, thereby immediately entering this new market at no additional cost! This “new” system would allow the sale of all the aluminum framing on this shopping center, when before this system – Kawneer would sell none!
