The Group Waste Italy is supporting businesses to assist them in the integrated management of industrial waste.
Waste Italy Spa, the main subsidiary of the Group, it is the only Italian private player that guarantees a complete coverage of the industry.
The enhancement of materials, through recycling or recovery and reuse in economic activities as Secondary Raw Material (MPS), is the core principle that joins all activities of the Group.
Part of leftover waste is then transferred to dedicated plants where it is transformed in RDF (Refuse-derived fuel), material intended for industrial use which is employed as alternative fuel thanks to its high calorific value.
This source of renewable energy was also approved by the Kyoto protocol as one of the factors which may lead to reduce greenhouse gas.
Pursuing the objective of “Waste End”, the Group is concretely inspired by the Sixth Environment Action Programme of the European Community (6th EAP): waste must be treated as close as possible to where they are produced, reintroduced in the economic cycle and, only if they cannot be reused, they shall be disposed of safely.
Objective Waste End
The objective of “Waste End” for Waste Italia is not only a utopistic source of inspiration but also a social and techno- ligical reality capable of bringing power and competitiveness to the national economy.
The waste industry shall be considered as an area of opportunities botn for the environment and for the territory as well as for the competitiveness of businesses (perennially starved of raw materials) and for the innovative. A real revolution which will bring about new employment and industrial revitalisation.
