Pietro Colucci, Chairman and Chief Executive O cer of Gruppo Waste Italia, is a point of reference for the sector of the Gre- en Economy, not only from a entrepreneurial and managerial perspective, but also thanks to his programmatic approach.
He has been involved in several initiatives in order to take his innovative and green approach to the Italian economy. Together with Edo Ronchi, former Environment Ministry of the Italian Republic, Pietro Colucci is the author of a book, published in 2011 under the title of “Vento a favore”, in the form of a reasoned interview and debate between two key representatives of national politics and economy, who have for years been facing Italy’s di culties in seriously tackling the environmental agenda and whose declared will iscontributingtochangethenationalhabitwhichseestheabsenceofcommunication betweenpoliticalgroups,inparticularwith respect to the environment.
The collaboration with Ronchi also started the Foundation for Italy’s sustainable development established in 2008 to encourage the development of the green economy in Italy. In 2012, still with Edo Ronchi and the then Environment Ministry, Corrado Clini, Pietro Co- lucci is co-promoter of The States General of the Green Economy, a well-established event in the sector of the Green Economy which attracted, in recent editions, more than 2000 stakeholders.
Besides, Pietro Colucci is a major supporter of a zero waste future (Waste End), promoting the Circular Economy theories and making themconcreteinavisionaryproject: WastEnd,theworkshopofthefuture,involvingthe constructionofaresearchparkinthePro- vince of Turin where discarded materials can be recovered and recycled to a new life.
